The outdoor wood boilers across from Woodriver Elementary are the newer EPA These outdoor wood boilers are high polluters and don’t belong in that

Excerpt:

U-Park, Riverview, Hamilton Acres, Goldstream, Chena Ridge and the “Rectangle of Death” in North Pole. They may work well in remote areas, but they just don’t belong in our town. They’re taking away the healthy air we all have a right to breathe. Harm from PM 2.5 pollution lasts a lifetime. We have to protect our children, our elders, all of our families. And we need to protect responsible wood stove use. The Healthy Air Protection Act will do this. This is why, as a parent who heats his home with wood, I became a sponsor of Prop 2. Please join me in voting yes on Proposition 2 on Oct. 4. For more information, visit http://www.healthyairnow.org.

  1. Terry Morrison says:

Our landlord installed a coal boiler a few years ago. Have not been able to open a window all year long. He burns coal all summer. The stink is so bad. We even get large chunks of unburned ash the size of peas all over our vehicles and in any open window if it has no screen.
