2011 Oct. 17: Climate, Energy, & Air Weekly Update

The House of Representatives passed bills delaying and weakening EPA regulations of cement kilns and industrial boilers, and vesting authority to regulate utility coal combustion residuals with the states . . . Some states and environmental groups reached an agreement with the EPA to extend their negotiations on a timeline for the Agency’s proposal of GHG regulations for new and existing power plants . . . The Utility Air Regulatory Group and 25 states sent a letter to the federal District Court in D.C. requesting a one-year extension of the utility MACT.
